YEREVAN. - Armenia will again celebrate the Days of Russian language.

The Russian language in Armenia contributes to reinforcing security in the region, Russian Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko said during the event.

UNDP Resident Representative in Armenia Dafina Gercheva was present at the event organized by the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University and UN.

The University Chancellor Darbinyan said that the Russian language is spreading worldwide. Gercheva added that raising the level of proficiency in Russian, may serve for improvement of educational process.

According to the Ambassador, Armenian Ministry of Education supports schools in teaching Russian profoundly and makes efforts to increase the number of Russian-speaking Armenians.

Events devoted to the Days of Russian language will start on Wednesday.
