Freedom House American human rights organization responded to the announcement of Azerbaijani ideology leader Ali Hasanov. “Freedom House is strongly concerned about the announcements of the Azerbaijani authorities regarding the open hostility against independent journalists, as well as proposed amendments of laws that restrict access to information,” the press release of the organization reads. Ali Hasanov, the personal advisor of Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliev, in his speech disseminated hatred towards oppositionist journalists and papers which criticize the government. “They should no longer appear in front of the Azerbaijani public. They must fear to appear on the streets. We must show public hatred to them,” Ali Hasanov announced. In addition, the country's parliament is working on changes in two laws that restrict access to information.
