YEREVAN. – Armenia does not have any deficits of underground water, director general of Armenian Water and Sewerage Company Patrick Laurent told Armenian News-NEWS.am. According to him, climate conditions can affect underground water reserves during six months – if precipitation is less than usual in spring, the results will be felt in fall. This summer underground water sources were fed by a snowy winter. However, other factors besides precipitations, affect underground waters as well. For example, a few days ago an earthquake occurred in Ashotsk as a result of which reduction of groundwater was observed. “Armenia is rich with water, but the nation does not understand that water must be preserved. Let us hope that the coming generation will understand that and save the water,” Patrick Laurent said.
