YEREVAN. – Armenian MP from the parliamentary group of the ruling Republican Party Ruben Hayrapetyan releases a statement concerning the cruel fight in his restaurant on Thursday.

“These days I have not responded to the cruel beating which occurred at Harsnakar Restaurant Complex in any way, while some agencies and individuals went ahead and ‘revealed’ the crime even accusing myself for ordering the beating, before law enforcement agents would finish their investigation. I did not make any statements because of the simple reason that I did not want my statement to hinder the investigation of the police in any way.

Now, when the main perpetrator has been revealed and the policemen are trying to discover all the other participants of the beating and details about it I shall not keep silence so that everyone who was involved in the crime will be punished no matter whether they are doctors, officers or waiters.

My working spheres are only the NA and Armenia’s Football Federation and I do not have anything to do with the management of the businesses which were founded by me but currently belong to my family where hundreds of people are working. It is not just to accredit myself for anything that happens in those structures. There are people who have responsibilities and if they are proved guilty they will be punished,” the statement of Ruben Hayrapeyan reads.  

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that a brutal fight occurred at the restaurant complex on Sunday at around 11 p.m. According to the information Armenian News-NEWS.am received, Vahe Avetyan was the person who was beaten. He was transferred to the hospital with a critical head injury and he underwent surgery. He is still kept at the hospital in very critical condition.     

A criminal case had been launched. The case was removed from the police to the MOD investigation department but the Prosecutor’s Office sent the case back to the police.
