YEREVAN. – The Armenian Police released a statement on the fight in Harsnakar Restaurant Complex.

“The investigation of the criminal case, which was launched on January 19, goes on in the Central Investigation Department of the police. The police announce that everything will be done in order to conduct a thorough and fair investigation. It is interesting though that a groundless skepticism was shown towards the investigation of the case. The Armenian Police has stated that the Police go after events and not people and it is not going to be constrained. The public will be informed about the results of the preliminary investigation,” the statement reads.

Earlier, Armenian News-NEWS.am reported that a brutal fight transpired at the restaurant complex owned by influential ruling party MP Ruben Hayrapetyan. According to the information Armenian News-NEWS.am received, Vahe Avetyan was the person who was beaten. He was transferred to the hospital with a critical head injury and underwent surgery. He is kept at the hospital in critical condition.

A criminal case had been launched. The case was moved from the police to the MOD investigation department but the Prosecutor’s Office sent the case back to the police.
