YEREVAN. – The average monthly wage in Armenia was AMD 114,800 (approx. US$ 277) in May 2012, the National Statistical Service informs.

The average monthly salaries increased by 3.8 percent as compared with May 2011, but dropped by 1.5 percent as compared with April 2012.  

And considering the fact that the annual inflation was 0.5 percent this May, we can state that the people’s real income has grown in Armenia.  

Also in May 2012, the average monthly wage in the state sector was AMD 92,100 (approx. $222) and that of the private sector was AMD 141,400 (approx. $341).

And as compared with the beginning of the year, the average monthly salaries in Armenia increased by close to AMD 2,800 (approx. $6.75).
