YEREVAN. – Armenia’s President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received Asad Alam, the World Bank (WB) Regional Director for the South Caucasus, in connection with the end of his term in office, and the new Regional Director, Henry Kerali.  

The interlocutors highly assessed the cooperation between Armenia and WB, and spoke with satisfaction about the results of the projects that are materialized, the President’s Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Serzh Sargsyan extended his gratitude to WB for such cooperation and its assistance to Armenia’s socioeconomic reforms. And he highly appreciated Asad Alam’s personal contribution to the development of Armenia-World Bank ties and wished him success in his future endeavors.  

Also, the President congratulated the new WB Regional Director Henry Kerali for assuming this office, and expressed a hope that during his visit to Armenia he would get a chance to get familiar with the ongoing projects, and the country’s development prospects and challenges.  

In his turn, Kerali assured that WB has an able and a good team in the capital, Yerevan, and, with the assistance of this team, the Bank will continue developing relations with Armenia.

They also reflected on the priorities of Armenia’s economy and its future cooperation with the World Bank.
