YEREVAN. – An Armenian peacekeeping military unit, comprising 35 servicemen, will leave for Kosovo on Friday at 5pm.

The Armenian peacekeepers will be stationed at the American military base, situated nearby Uroševac city, and they will conduct a six-month-shift peace mission at the area under the responsibility of NATO’s Multinational Battle Group East.

To note, the Armenian peacekeeping unit, which has taken part in NATO’s Kosovo mission ever since 2004, returned to Armenia in February of this year, because of a cutback in the number of military forces participating in the mission.

A memorandum of understanding was signed, with the American side, so as to resume the Armenian peacekeepers’ Kosovo mission at the area under the responsibility of the Multinational Battle Group East.
