PARIS. – French MP Hilda Tchoboian questions whether an alleged conversation ever took place between French President Francois Hollande and the Co-chair of the Coordination Council of the Armenian Organizations in France Mourad Papazian, Hilda Tchoboyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I think that either this information is not true or it is strongly inflated. The Armenian Community in France and Armenians in general get more and more angry on the announcements of French FM Laurent Fabius and questions arose concerning the French policy towards the Armenian Issue,” she said.

According to her, in the current situation Papazian’s statement should not be trusted, as there are several factors proving that Papazian’s statement could not be true.

“Such statements should be done officially and not on the telephone without any prove,” the MP said.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported, after his meeting with Turkey’s FM Ahmet Davutoglu, it has been made clear that France will not have a new law criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide.

After that Mourad Papazian, co-chairman of Coordination Council of Armenian organizations of France posted on his Facebook page information that on Saturday morning Francois Hollande had called him in order to reassure his loyalty towards his responsibilities. Besides, according to Papazian, Hollande assured that the bill criminalizing denial of genocides will be put to the vote.
