Three nominees will contend in the presidential elections to be held in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR).

Monday was the deadline for submitting presidential-candidacy-withdrawal petitions, and the NKR Central Electoral Commission received one such petition from candidate, non-party affiliate Valeri Khachatryan.    

So, three candidates formally will run in the presidential elections: Incumbent NKR President Bako Sahakyan; Deputy Director Arkadi Soghomonyan of Academic Activities at the NKR capital Stepanakert Branch of State Agrarian University of Armenia; and NKR National Assembly non-party affiliate MP Vitali Balasanyan.

The NKR presidential elections will be held on July 19 and the election results will be made public on July 22.
