YEREVAN. – Armenian Justice Ministry’s Compulsory Enforcement Service of Judicial Orders seized AMD 7.1 billion (approx. US$ 16,824,820) in the first six months of 2012, Service Chief Mihran Poghosyan stated during a press conference on Tuesday, adding that this amount was AMD 6.8 billion (approx. $16,113,915) in the same time period for last year.

The greatest number of confiscations were made in favor of legal entities, but this amount is less than last year’s indicator. Instead, the seizures made in favor of individuals have risen. And the mandatory collections for the State Budget amounted to AMD 1.3 billion (approx. $3,080,600).

As per Poghosyan, the aforesaid Service is the world’s second such agency with its effectiveness, and, perhaps, this is why Armenia has decided not to turn it into a private service.
