YEREVAN. – No pressure was and can be applied on the investigative agency looking into the Harsnaqar Restaurant incident, Armenia’s Police General Department of Investigation division chief Arsen Ayvazyan assured during a press conference on Tuesday.

And in response to a news reporter’s query as to whether there is no concern that the criminal case could go in the wrong direction, since Ruben Hayrapetyan has best man-groom-and-bride relations with a senior police officer, Ayvazyan noted that no pressure can be exerted on the Police General Department of Investigation, and stressed that the investigation is in progress and new facts and circumstances could surface.

To note, Ruben Hayrapetyan has best man-groom-and-bride relations with capital city Yerevan’s Police Chief, Major General Nerses Nazaryan.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, an incident had occurred at Yerevan’s Harsnaqar Restaurant on June 17, where several military doctors including Edgar Mikoyan, Arkadi Aghajanyan, Garik Soghomonyan, Artak Bayadyan and Vahe Avetyan were brutally beaten by Hayrapetyan’s security personnel. And Vahe Avetyan died in hospital on June 29. A criminal case is launched and the Police have detained six people.

The Restaurant’s owner is senior ruling party MP, Football Federation of Armenia President, and businessman Ruben Hayrapetyan, who on July 3 formally submitted his resignation from his parliamentary seat.
