YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan received a delegation led by the Head of the Russian Federal Assembly’s Federal Council (Senate) Valentina Matvienko on Wednesday.

As the press service of the Armenian President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am, Armenian-Russian relations and cooperation in different spheres was discussed during the meeting. According to Serzh Sargsyan, the military alliance between Armenia and Russia is a good base to develop cooperation in other spheres as well. Serzh Sargsyan and Valentina Matvienko highly estimated the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the Armenian Parliament and the Russian State Duma. The parties expressed satisfaction with the economic and humanitarian cooperation between Armenia and Russia.
