YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday sent a message of condolence to the family of famous actress Galya Novents, who passed away on Sunday.

“I heard with deep pain about the death of the great actress of our times, Rep. of Armenia’s People’s Artist, Galya Novents. Sadly, this is one of those exclusive cases when we can say Armenian cinema suffered an irreversible loss.  

Galya Novents’ impressive and emotional characters, her large and small roles are a significant contribution to cinema history. 

The sole consolation in this truly difficult time is the fact that art is constant, [and] this enables us and the future generations to come into constant contact with that great and unique phenomenon which bears the name Galya Novents,” President Sargsyan’s condolence statement reads.
