YEREVAN. – Allowing Skype interception is in the framework of the policy of Microsoft with other governments, Internet-community Armenia NGO Vice-president Grigor Saghiyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am

“Any state has the right to intercept legally. In contrast to all other systems, telephony, data transmission via Skype was coded so that it was impossible to decipher. It did not satisfy the law enforcement agents,” Saghiyan said.

However, as Skype was officially purchased by Microsoft last October, the latter agreed the Skype policy with its own, including issuing interception legally in cyber space. To note, Armenia has ratified the agreement for fight against cyber-crime in 2007.
