The former US Ambassador to Azerbaijan and former OSCE Co-Chair Matthew Bryza joined the American Jamestown Foundation board.

“Bryza played a key role in shaping U.S. policies in the South Caucasus region for almost two decades as a senior American diplomat,” the Foundation’s statement reads.

 He quitted US diplomatic service this January. He was the U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan from February 2011 to January 2012.

Earlier he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia, from 2005 to 2009. From 2001 to 2005, Bryza served in the White House as Director for European and Eurasian Affairs on the National Security Council Staff.
