The Turkish Embassy in France sent an official note to the country’s Education Ministry and required a review of the material, in connection with the Armenian Genocide, which is included in France’s new history textbooks.

The Turkish note claimed that the respective information in these textbooks is not based on scientific facts, the Turkish Samanyolu website informs.

And the French Education Ministry responded by noting that in 2001 France formally recognized the events in 1915 as genocide, and therefore including them in the textbooks is very normal.

“The material included in the textbooks is prepared by scientists and editors, and, in terms of scientific genuineness, we must note that they were studied thoroughly,” the French Education Ministry’s response stated.
