YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan ran a consultation meeting that was held on September 22. 

The objective of the talk was to discuss the idea of founding, at the Diaspora Ministry’s initiative, an NGO that will coordinate the matters concerning Syrian Armenians, the Ministry press service informs.    

Hakobyan stated that over 4,000 Syrian Armenians are in Armenia at present, and their social and economic problems are becoming urgent matters. The Minister assured that it is necessary to found an NGO that will present all respective existing problems to the Ministry and organize the providing of monetary assistance to the needy Syrian Armenians.   

“The matters that concern our compatriots are at the priority focus of the Diaspora Ministry and the entire Government,” Hranush Hakobyan maintained.  

And upon the Diaspora Minister’s instruction, registration of the “Center for Coordination of Syrian-Armenians’ Issues” NGO commenced at the Ministry of Justice.
