Chief of Armenian Police Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan was present at the reopening ceremony of the renovated Dynamo sports complex on September 27.  The renovation of the sports arena was funded by an organization carrying the same name, Dynamo.

According to the Armenian Police press office, the boxing/wrestling hall and the covered arena (originally put into use in 1965 and 1977, respectively), attended in the Soviet times by Olympic champions such as Igor Novikov, Ogsen Mirzoyan, and Hrachya Petikyan, had never been thoroughly renovated until now.

The renovations, initiated at the directive of Vladimir Gasparyan last December, resulted in the complex reopening its doors for the 700 children and 500 policemen that will use it on a regular basis.

The ceremony culminated in some awards and medals being handed to those who had, in one way or another, contributed to the strengthening of the cooperation between the complex and Armenian Police. Among the medal recipients was renowned wrestling coach Harutyun Khachatryan who also witnessed the renaming of the Greco-Roman wrestling hall in his honor.

Vladimir Gasparyan took a short tour of the facility and conversed with the employees of the complex after the ceremony.
