YEREVAN. – Opposition bloc Armenian National Congress leader, and First President, Levon Ter-Petrosyan will not run for president in the elections to be conducted on February 18, 2013.  He informed this in an interview with Chorrord Inknishkhanutyun daily.

To the daily’s query as to whether he will run in the elections, Ter-Petrosyan responded as follows:

“No, because, say what you want, [but] a 68-year-old man cannot have the same energy and efficiency as a 40-60-year-old, which, perhaps, is the optimal age for the politicians that aspire for the Office of the President. Hence, those that are younger than me should enter the scene.”
