The results of the online voting in over twenty categories were announced during the Emerging Airports Conference and Exhibition 2013 being held in Dubai.

As a result of the voting in the “Best Airport  of CIS, Russia, and the Baltic States” category, Armenian capital city Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport was recognized as the best in the CIS expanse.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Zvartnots was nominated for the Emerging Markets Airports Award (EMAA) by the United Arab Emirates based Arabian Reach marketing/promotions company.

Aside from Zvartnots, Moscow’s Domodedovo and Sheremetyevo (Russia), Saint Petersburg’s Pulkovo (Russia), and Bishkek’s Manas (Kyrgyzstan) International Airport were selected from the CIS countries for this category. The online voting was conducted for more than one month.

During the official presentation ceremony, the respective award was handed to Marcelo Wende, the General Manager of Armenia International Airports Company—which owns Zvartnots International Airport.
