YEREVAN. – Acting Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was reappointed to his post. The decree was signed on Friday by President Serzh Sargsyan, president’s press service reported.

On Thursday the candidacy of Prime Minister was supported by the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.

Re-elected president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who took office on April 9, on the same day accepted resignation of the Cabinet.

According to the Constitution, the President appoints a Prime Minister within ten days after the resignation of the government on the basis of the distribution of seats in the National Assembly and consultations with parliamentary factions.

The government is formed within twenty days after the appointment of the Prime Minister. Tigran Sargsyan has been in office since April 9, 2008. Previously, he headed the Central Bank of the Republic.
