YEREVAN. – Armenia’s opposition Heritage Party-led “Barev [Hello], Yerevan” bloc has decided to pick up its capital city Yerevan Council of Elders seats.
Heritage’s vice-chairman Armen Martirosyan, who headed the bloc’s list in the recent municipal election, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Martirosyan noted that the bloc held discussions on Monday and, as a result, it was decided to take the seats which the bloc had received in line with the election results.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Armenian Central Electoral Commission (CEC) summed up, on May 12, the final results of the Yerevan Council of Elders election that was held on May 5.
As a result, CEC adopted a decision on the election of the council members, and in line with this decision, the council members are as follows:
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia, with 42 seats; non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party, with 17 seats; and opposition Heritage Party-led “Barev [Hello], Yerevan” bloc, with 6 seats.
