February 27, a powerful 7 magnitude earthquake struck Japan. According to U.S. Geological Survey, the epicenter focus was at the depth of 22 kilometers.

A tsunami warning was initially issued, but later lifted. The quake epicenter was 81km off the southern Japanese island of Okinawa, BBC reports.

No information on victims and casualties is available.

Another 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit Philippines. The epicenter was 140 km south of Davao city, Mindanao Island. There are no reports of injured and damages.
