YEREVAN. – An exhibition of the world-famous photographer Ara Guler opened at the National Gallery of Armenia on Tuesday (photos).

The exhibition titled “Barev dzez” (Hello) is organized by Armenia’s Ministry of Culture and features more than 100 works taken in Armenia, in Turkey and around the world.

The exhibition also presents photos of famous people, including Winston Churchill, Indira Gandhi, Salvador Dali, Sergei Parajanov, Aram Khachaturian, Dustin Hoffman, Sophia Loren, Brigitte Bardot and many others. All photos displayed at the exhibition will remain in Armenia.

Ara Guler himself said he is very pleased to be able to present “one side of the world” to the Armenian audience.

Opening the exhibition, the Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan noted that Ara Guler is a photographer whose work has always surprised the entire world.

“He is a man of the world. The man who used every opportunity to grab the moment to transfer it for the next generations,” she said.
