Education in the mother tongue is the key weapon in the fight against assimilation. 

Armenia’s Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan noted the aforesaid Friday, at the Aghavnadzor camp of the Diaspora Ministry’s 2013 “Come Home” Program for young Diaspora Armenians, during the official closing of the third phase of this program.  

She expressed a hope that the youth will return to their countries of residence looking forward to return to the Homeland again.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan and Governor Kovalenko Shahgaldyan of Kotayk Region likewise were on hand at the event. 

“Our objective is that you may be connected to the Homeland throughout your lives. We are full of hope that many of you will return and settle in the Homeland. By coming [to Armenia] and learning the mother tongue, you have taken the first step on this road,” Sargsyan specifically noted during the event.
