Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Friday received Syrian Charge d’Affaires Essam Nayyal.

Karekin II with deep concern mentioned the situation in Syria, expressing his sorrow at the casualties and damages suffered by the people of Syria, the press service of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reported.

He noted that the Armenian Church will continue to support the people of Syria who have found themselves in a difficult situation.

In turn, Essam Nayyal has expressed gratitude to the Armenian people and the church for the humanitarian aid. Charge d’Affaires conveyed greetings to the Catholicos from Grand Mufti of Syria Sheikh Ahmad Badr Al-Din Hassoun.

Catholicos wished the diplomat fruitful work in Armenia.
