YEREVAN. – The bill supposing ban for “propaganda of homosexuality” which was posted on the Armenian police website has been withdrawn. The bill intended to introduce amendments to the Code of Administrative Offences.

Police press service told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the bill was prepared by the Legal Department of the Police on the basis of applications received from dozens of intellectuals.

Police Chief Vladimir Gasparyan has withdrawn the bill based on the deficiencies identified during the debates as well as the fact that this issue is not currently a priority for the Armenian police.
