YEREVAN. – They wish to deceive the President of Armenia with the bill on tolerance, writer and publicist Lia Avetisyan stated during a press conference on Saturday. 

As per Avetisyan, the creators of this bill are attempting to mislead the Armenians and they plan to weaken the foundations of the Armenian family unit. 

“We are the bearer of ancient family values and we have no right to abandon them,” the publicist noted.    

According to her, the Armenian nation must be protected from such attempts to deprive itself from its character and historical dignity.   

To note, the Office of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia is preparing the bill “Against Discrimination.” Several civil society representatives, however, criticize this bill which, in their view, enables the establishment of homosexual families in Armenia.
