YEREVAN. – Many Armenians moved to Lebanon and Armenia as a result of military actions in Syria, editor of Armenian daily said.
In particular, around 10,000 Syrian-Armenians moved to Armenia and around 7,000-8,000 to Lebanon.
Shahan Kandaharian, editor of Aztag daily, said serious measures are taken, but a complex program is necessary for Syrian Armenians not to leave their historical land.
As for the Syrian Armenians living in Lebanon, Kandaharian said that basically they do not have problems with housing, as some have their homes and many have relatives.
“All refugees from Syria are getting assistance of international organizations. In addition, local Armenian organizations help Syrian Armenians. At present, the problems of education and employment are being solved,” he said.
