YEREVAN. – The state budget funding of Armenia’s health sector will enable to implement comprehensive programs.

Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan noted the aforementioned during Friday’s National Assembly discussions devoted to the 2014 State Budget.

“This will be an unprecedented program, in which 50 percent of Armenia’s population will be engaged,” Dumanyan stated.

In addition, the minister noted that the mandatory medical insurance program will be submitted for Government discussions by the year’s end, and this program will be introduced in 2015.

Dumanyan also highlighted that the amount allocated to Armenia’s hospitals has increased by three times as compared to the previous year.

“We do not oversee the [financial] means, but the cooperation with those medical institutions that have violated the terms and conditions will be reassessed,” he said.

Derenik Dumanyan added, however, that the state employees are very passive and they do not make full use of medical insurance.
