YEREVAN. – In 2003, the Government of Armenia declared November 22 as Bank Worker’s Day in the country.

By way of this holiday, the state of Armenia stresses the importance of the banking system.

The selection for this date is due to the fact that on November 22, 1993, the Russian rubles of the State Bank of the USSR went out of circulation in Armenia and, in their stead, the Armenian dram banknotes were put into circulation in Armenia.

On this day, the governmental agencies and local authorities of Armenia congratulate the banking employees of the country.
