YEREVAN. – Iranian experts are going to produce bio-fertilizers in Armenia and export them to Europe.

Executive officer of Armen Biotek LLC Vardan Grigoryan said a company founded with Iranian investments will produce the first batch of bio-fertilizers in 2014.

“The manufacturing technology is provided by Iranian partners,” he told reporters.

Siamak Alizade, director of the company, said fertilizer had been tested in Iran and had been exported to African states, adding that European and American standards are used.

According to the developers, one 110-ml bottle of fertilizer can replace 100 kilos of urea and 50 kilos of superphosphate.

The company has already tested fertilizer in Armenia on the experimental plot near the town of Abovyan, and then in Armavir Region.

The company has already held talks with the landowners in particular Multi Agro, one of the largest agricultural holdings, that is interested in the production.

“We are negotiating with partners in several European countries. If things go as we expect, our production will create up to 100 jobs,” Grigoryan added.
