YEREVAN. – Mayor of the Armenian city of Spitak dismissed rumors saying the street named after Viktor Yanukovych had been allegedly renamed.

The rumors spread on the web were reposted by media outlets. The rumors spread by a group of activists said the street was “renamed” as Serhiy Nigoyan street. Nigoyan, Armenian by origin, was one of the protestors killed at Maidan on January 22.

Talking to Armenian News-NEWS.am mayor Gagik Sahakyan condemned those responsible for spreading rumors. He said the residents of Spitak shared his opinion.
