YEREVAN. – This year's World Cup will be the biggest event in Brazil and will bring together national squads from 32 countries, Brazil's Ambassador to Armenia Edson Marinho Duarte Monteiro told reporters on Saturday.

“Neymar is our hope in this year's squad. He is young and very, very good player, who will participate in the World Cup for the first time. We hope that this will be the Cup thanks to which he could be glorified just as great Pele in 1958,” Ambassador said.

Speaking about the Armenian national football team, the diplomat stressed that our country has a history, reminding about “Ararat 73”, champion of the Soviet Union.

“I was very upset when Armenians lost to Denmark in Yerevan. But I watched the game against Bulgaria in which Armenia won, and I also watched the game with Italy. All this gave me reason for hope that your team will take part in the next football World Cup to be held in Russia, not far from here. Imagine how many Armenians can come to support their team in Russia,” he said.
