YEREVAN. – IMF experts believe the Armenian government will not manage to ensure the projected 5-percent economic growth.
Moreover, the growth will be lower than 4.2-percent, a forecast made by IMF in April, Teresa Daban Sanchez, IMF Resident Representative in Armenia, said in an interview with RFE/RL Armenian service.
The IMF representative explained that the forecast is conditioned by deteriorating economic situation in Russia.
“Macroeconomic situation in Armenia remains favorable, but there are problems over economic growth,” Daban Sanchez said.
According to IMF forecasts, a zero growth will be registered in Russia, and this will affect Armenia's economy.
