An archeological museum of Tigranakert opened in Nagorno-Karabakh. At the opening ceremony of the museum the Head of Tourism Department, NKR Government, Sergey Shahverdyan said once again the historical truth is confirmed. “Tigranakert is our homeland, like Van, Mush, Kars and Ardahan,” he said, expressing confidence that it will become one of the largest tourism centers of the country.

Tigranakert was one of the four cities founded by Armenian Emperor Tigranes the Great in different territories of the Armenian highland in the 1st century B.C. It was one of 4 cities in Armenia named Tigranakert.
