Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan on Wednesday participated in the official opening of the new waterline of Arevshat village in Shirak Region.

The villagers had set feast tables on the fields and they were waiting for the PM’s arrival since the morning, the Armenian News-NEWS.am reporter informed from location.

On his way to Arevshat, however, Abrahamyan made unplanned stops to several villages, where he listened to the farmers’ complaints, most of which were about almost completely losing their crops as a result of Monday’s hailstorm.

Upon arrival at Arevshat, the Premier congratulated the villagers on the opening of their new waterline, expressed a wish that hailstorms will no longer harm their crops, promised that the Armenian authorities will be more attentive towards farmers, and, subsequently, he danced with the village children.

Within the framework of his working visit to Shirak Region on Wednesday, Hovik Abrahamyan will travel to several more communities, and his trip will wrap up in the regional center Gyumri, which is Armenia’s second largest city.
