Armenian and Russian Presidents, Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, discussed in Sochi the issues of Russian-Armenian cooperation in various fields and Nagorno Karabakh problem, the press service of Kremlin informs.

 

According to the press service, Vladimir Putin, in particular, said: "The Russian-Armenian relations, are extremely friendly and have the strategic nature, as evidenced by the recent decisions of Armenia on the accession to the Customs Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.

 

This is also an opportunity to  discuss the issues related to the Karabakh settlement. Therefore, the agenda we have is very rich. "

 

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan added that in addition to the agenda of bilateral relations, he  also plans to discuss issues related to the integration processes, specifically related to the accession of Armenia to the Eurasian Economic Union.

 

"Of course, we are concerned about the situation in Ukraine. Vladimir Vladimirovich informed us about the measures being taken by Russia, and I, in turn, will inform him about the situation in our region and the reasons for a deliberate escalation of the situation by Azerbaijan on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the line of contact,"  Sargsyan said.
