Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Emrullah Isler has informed about the number of non-Muslim foundations and the churches belonging to them, which are under the jurisdiction of the country’s Directorate General of Foundations. 

Isler announced that there are 166 non-Muslim community foundations in Turkey, and 74 of them are Greek, 52 are Armenian, and 18 are Jewish, reported Anadolu news agency of Turkey.

In the Turkish deputy PM’s words, 115 churches in Turkey belong to the Greek foundations, 52 others belong to Armenian foundations, and 47 synagogues in the country belong to Jewish foundations. 

Emrullah Isler added that 42 more churches in Turkey belong to seventeen other communities.
