Greek Patriarch Bartholomew will attend the divine liturgy at Armenian Surb Khach church located on Akhtamar Island in Turkey.

Head of the local department on culture and tourism Muzafer Aktug said this year's liturgy will bring together a number of spiritual leaders. Patriarch Bartholomew and Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church Mor Filiksinos Yusuf Cetin are reported to be present at the mass.

Armenians are responsible for organization of the liturgy, while department on tourism will ensure safety of the pilgrims, Aktug said.

This year's liturgy in Surb Khach church will be held on September 7.

The first ceremony after a 95-year break was held in the Armenian church on September 11, 2010.
