A bust of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, was reduced to ashes in the Şırnak Province of the country.

During the funeral of two Kurdish militants in Cizre district of the Şırnak Province, the members of the Patriotic Revolutionist Youth Movement (YDG-H)—which is considered the youth wing of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK)—set on fire a bust of Ataturk in a park, reported Haberfx website of Turkey.

As a result, the police removed the burned bust, placed a new one in its place, and set a monitoring around it.
