YEREVAN. – The Armenian government approved the draft agreement on joining Eurasian Economic Union.
The draft was presented by the Deputy Finance Minister Suren Karayan during the government's session on Thursday.
The sides will divide custom duties and other payments, according to previously agreed proportions: 1.13% of duties to Armenia, 4.65% - Belarus, 7.25% - Kazakhstan and 86.97% - to Russia.
Armenia has solved the question of postponement of common duties on a number of products. The same customs duties will be paid for a number of important goods imported from third countries to Armenia.
By 2022, Armenia will have to switch completely to common duties of the Eurasian Union.
Exemptions from customs duties received meat (beef, pork, chicken), milk powder, corn and rice, vegetable and animal oil, and gasoline and a number of other petroleum products, pharmaceuticals, vehicles (cars, vans and buses, trucks).
