YEREVAN. – FC Pyunik (Yerevan) forward Cesar Romero joined the Armenian club in August. In the past, Romero has played in Mexico, the Major League Soccer, and in Germany.

The footballer holds Mexican and American citizenship, and Armenian News-NEWS.am spoke with him. Below is an excerpt from the interview.

You are currently the top scorer in the Armenian Premier League football. Were you expecting such a result at the start of the season?

I expect a 100-percent dedication from myself every time, and the goals come in this case. In addition, I’m playing in a great team which helped me score those 17 goals.

You are also included among the nominees for Armenia’s footballer of the year. In your view, who will win this year?

I don’t know who will win. As for me, I just try to do the maximum when I enter the pitch.

There are rumors that you might move to another club this winter, especially to Belgium?

There is always the possibility of moving, but I can’t say anything certain at this point.

What will you do if you were invited to the Armenian national squad?

If such an invitation were to be made, I’ll definitely consider it.

What plans do you have for the Christmas holidays? What do you expect as a gift?

The most important gift for me will be spending Christmas with the greatest love of my life, my son. And I’ve asked Santa for a long life and more chances to be with my son.
