YEREVAN. – Accession to the Eurasian Economic Union was not beneficial for Armenia, deputy chairman of Heritage party Armen Martirosyan said.

The task was to preserve power, not to ensure safety of the country. Armenia has not become more secure after the signing of documents on joining Eurasian Union, Martirosyan said.

“We see deepening political and military cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan,” he said.

Martirosyan is convinced that the problems will deepen because of Eurasian Economic Union.

“The is no movement in terms of economic situation, the prices of basic consumer goods doubled this year,” he emphasized.

Armenia will join Eurasian Economic Union starting January 2, 2015.
