The Armenian law enforcement officials are at the Russian 102nd military base, which is stationed in Gyumri city. And military base serviceman Valery Permyakov, who is the main suspect in Monday’s murder of six members of a family, is being interrogated.     

First Deputy Chief of Police Hunan Poghosyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Permyakov has started to testify, and stated that he had left his military post, wanted to take a little stroll, gone to the house of the abovementioned family to drink water, knocked on the door but no one had opened, tried to enter but someone had woken up, and as a result, the tragedy had occurred. 

Poghosyan said that Permyakov will be indicted also with deserting his military base, fleeing from his military post with a weapon, and attempting to cross the border.

“They [, the Russian side,] tend to be [wanting] that we [, the Armenian side,] investigate [this crime], since the incident occurred at us; it’s a serious crime. [And] I believe we will investigate the case,” the deputy police chief said, in particular. 

Six members of a family were shot dead and a six-month-old baby was wounded in Gyumri on Monday. The city’s Russian military base serviceman Valery Permyakov is the main suspect in this crime. A criminal case is opened on this tragic incident. Permyakov was apprehended near the Armenian-Turkish border, in the vicinity of Armenia’s Bayandur village.
