YEREVAN. – The special divisions of the Azerbaijani army have launched an attack, on Friday at around 9am, in the direction of several military positions of the Berd area of Armenia’s Tavush Region, and, as a result, the Armenian side has suffered casualties.    

The Armenian defense minister’s press secretary, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, noted about the above-said.

“[But] being discovered on time by the corresponding divisions of the Armenian army, there began a battle which lasted about half an hour.  

“The adversary was driven back having suffered losses and not carrying out [its] military task. But unfortunately, the Armenian side has two casualties and wounded. Lieutenant Karen Galstyan and Private Artak Sargsyan have died.

“The full responsibility and consequences of the [Armenian-Azerbaijani border] tension falls upon the conscience of the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan,” Hovhannisyan specifically wrote.
