Leader of Kurdish Democratic People's Party Selahattin Demirtas explained the reasons for nominating representatives of ethnic and religious minorities as candidates for parliamentary seats, T24.com website reported.

“We have an Armenian candidate, since Armenians are the reality of Turkey. There are Alawites, and they are the reality in Turkey. Socialists, women with scarves on their heads, the Kurds – they all are the reality of Turkey,” he said.

Active member of the Armenian community Karapet Paylian is the second on the list of Democratic People's Party in the third election district of Istanbul.
