Pope Francis was clear in his statement: the 1915 events in the Ottoman Turkey were genocide, Poland's Fronda.pl webiste said commenting on the Holy Mass commemorating victims of the Armenian Genocide that tool place at St. Peter's Basilica on Sunday.

Pope recalled the killings against Armenians that were committed in the Ottoman Empire, the website writes. 

“The Armenian issue is more significant as Turkey is unwilling to admit that it was Genocide. Pope left no doubts: the crimes must be placed in a row with the persecutions of Jews in Nazi Germany,” the article reads.
