YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, on Wednesday received chairman Dmitry Pankin of the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB).

 

First, the President congratulated the guest on his appointment as the EDB Management Board Chairman. Sargsyan also highly praised the bank’s activities in Armenia, and stressed that the country looks toward deeper cooperation with the EDB.

The Armenian President and the EDB chief noted that Armenia’s recent accession to the Eurasian Economic Union creates new prospects and favorable conditions for further developing Armenia-EDB collaboration.

Pankin, for his part, spoke with satisfaction about the continuing EDB funding for the construction of Armenia’s North-South road corridor. He also noted that the bank is interested in implementing programs in Armenia in several domains, and he is happy that these domains are among the priorities of the country’s economy.
